Diamond T Ranch
Perched at 1,200 feet above the Carmel Valley floor, Diamond T Ranch is one of the most revered vineyard sites in American winemaking. First planted in 1982 by the visionary Robert Talbott, these vines have produced wines of extraordinary depth and complexity for over four decades — including Chardonnay that achieved a perfect 100-point score from Wine Spectator.
In 2024, Diamond T Ranch found its new home with Paul Family Vineyards. Under the stewardship of Andy and Margaret Paul, and the winemaking artistry of David Hejl, this legendary estate enters its most exciting chapter yet — honoring a remarkable legacy while reaching for new heights of excellence.

A mountaintop vineyard of rare distinction. Diamond T Ranch was planted in 1982 with the Corton-Charlemagne Chardonnay clone in chalky Monterey shale — soil so lean and mineral-rich that the vines produce fruit of extraordinary concentration and complexity. The cool maritime climate, shaped by Pacific fog rolling through the Carmel Valley corridor, brings natural freshness, minerality, and a saline quality that speaks to the closeness of the coast. Pinot Noir was added in the late 1990s with elite Pommard and Dijon clones, thriving in the same demanding conditions that made the Chardonnay legendary.
